E-learning and Its Use in Tuition of Social Sciences

This doctoral thesis provides a comprehensive treatise of contemporary modern methods of education including e-learning. In its preface the author presents its content, purpose, basis and objectives and sets the main goal of the thesis, namely an intention to analyse and evaluate the latest trends in e-learning, modern forms of education and use of information technology in organisation of studies. Sub-objectives of this dissertation relate to the structure of its prime objective and correspond with its individual chapters in which it presents the history of e-learning within the history of science and institutional education, evaluates the position of e-learning and other modern forms of education in the scope of political and legislative priorities of the European Union and of the Czech Republic and presents several core strategic and legislative documents covering this area also in connection with the concept of lifelong learning. The key theoretical part of the thesis contains a detailed overview of main theoretical issues related to e-learning and other modern forms of education in contemporary local and international literature. An Analysis of implementation of the European Social Fund initiative Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the Labor Market and Reconciliation of Work and Family Life in the Region Vysočina

The topic of this thesis is the support of Equal Opportunities for women and men in the labor market and to reconcile work and family life, funded by the European Social Fund. The thesis consists of an introduction, a theoretical part, a practical part, a conclusion and appendices. In the theoretical part there are the first introduced policies of the European Social Fund for the period 2007 - 2013 and then their application in the Czech Republic, made up mainly of the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment and just his area of support 3.4 Equal opportunities for women and men in the labor market and to reconcile work and family life. The issue of equal opportunities for women and men is also used in the context of EU and in the context of labor market in the Czech Republic. Custom research is designed in order to analyze the implementation of the above- mentioned areas of support, specifically in the region Vysočina on the basis of already approved projects, using quantitative and qualitative content analysis. At the request Those projects are discussed both negative and positive gender lens. It is therefore a real form of project applications that are approved and draw on the financial resources of the European Social Fund.

Employability of the elderly between 2007- 2014 in the Czech Republic with an emphasis on the analysis of the efectivenes of ESF projects in the Zlín region

The paper focuses on the labour market of older people in the Czech Republic between 2007 and 2014. Population aging is becoming a trend in almost all European countries, while there is a gradual increase in the age for retirement, therefore it is important to improve the employment of older people. The theoretical part of the thesis presents information about the labour market of older people followed by the tools suitable for reducing unemployment. In the empirical part, the emphasis was to determine the effectiveness of ESF projects aiming to reduce unemployment of older people. Based on the analysis of primary data and on the questionnaire survey, 77% of people employed in subsidized jobs lost their job after the subsidy period. For this reason, projects are evaluated as inefficient.

The use of the European Social Fund in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the benefits from the regional individual project From the Cradle to the Labor realized within the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme for the district of Pribram. To understand the impact of this project it is essential to know certain information about the theoretical factors connected with the creation and implementation of the project. This includes the regional and structural policy of the EU, the European Social Fund and its use in the Czech Republic, the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme and, last but not least, the preparation and management of the projects of Structural Funds, whose analysis and description was also the aim of the work. The first step was therefore to define these important factors. The next step was to analyze the project From the Cradle to the Labor. The Labour Office in Pribram, who was the executor of the project, is very successful in drawing subsidies from the ESF considering the projects focused on the solution of high long-term unemployment rates in specific districts. Reasons for high long-term unemployment rates in the district of Pribram are perceived primarily as something caused by labour shortages, the outflow of skilled workers to the Prague and also in the low educational structure and the lack of vacancies and opportunities. To evaluate the success of the project and its benefits for the area, it was necessary to examine the process and its implementation in the district. The results of this analysis show that the project whose aim was to help its participants find a permanent job and to increase their employability in this area was quite successful. From the target group, which consisted of applicants and applicants for employment on parental leave, the project helped to find a permanent job to 39 persons out of 72 participants. It also helped create several new jobs. These results and the benefits of the project are listed in the last section of the thesis. Based on the results of the analysis, there were evaluated not only the benefits and results of the project in the particular region, but also its positives and negatives, which could be valuable for the implementation of similar future projects.

The European Social Fund in the context of adult education

The aim of the thesis was to analyze current adult education opportunities funded by The European Social Fund, evaluate benefits of this type of education in therms of unemployment. I compared opportunities of adul education in programming period 2004 - 2006 and programming period 2007 - 2013 and suggested some points to improve implementation of projects funded by The European Social Fund.
